Text Messaging Service
Posted on 3 Nov 2016
We now offer a text messaging service to all patients with a valid mobile telephone number on their record.
When an appointment is booked, a message is sent advising of the date and time of the appointment. A second reminder is also sent closer to the appointment date.
For test results, once these have been reviewed by a Clinician a text message is sent advising either that no action is necessary or that an appointment should be made at the Surgery. Patients may receive more than one message following a test. This is because the results are grouped into types i.e pathology, haematology etc. So one set of tests may not require any action, and you will receive a message advising this. A second group of results may need action taken, therefore a second message would be received asking that you contact the surgery.
To benefit from this service please make sure that you provide a current mobile telephone number. This can be done either via the Change of Details form on this website or by informing a member of the reception team.
If you have provided a mobile telephone number but do not wish to receive these messages, please inform the reception team and SMS messaging will be switched off for you.
